WHISTLEPIG

Whistlepig were formed in Loughborough in 2023, after the rhythm section of the band, who had all been in a band together back in the 1990s, bumped into each other by chance at a gig at Peggy’s Skylight in Nottingham.
Paul, Huw and Rupert got together in a studio just for a bit of muso fun. They enjoyed playing together again so much that they called up their old keyboard player, Jon, from their time together as The Vee Vees. Jon said he’d been waiting many years for this exact call, and jumped straight in.
The band then had the good fortune to find our fabulous and talented singer Jonny, who has worked with many great musicians over the years, including with Paul Deats, one of the founder owners of Peggy’s Skylight.
As Whistlepig the players all found they shared a love of soul, funk and blues, and settled on performing a rich diversity of ‘Americana with a groove’, including songs by the likes of Khraungbyn with Leon Bridges, The Band, Northern Comfort, JJ Cale, The Meters, Bill Withers, etc.
Whistlepig are available to bring their brand of soul, funk & blues to venues and festivals across the Midlands.
